South Metro Denver Realtor Association Reaches All-Time High Membership Level at 3,400 on July 13th

Leading Professional Group Also Announces Latest Housing Statistics from REcolorado as Denver’s Real Estate Market Remains among the Hottest Nationally

DENVER – The South Metro Denver Realtor Association (SMDRA) has achieved an historic high membership level by recording its 3,400th member on July 13, 2015. SMDRA’s all-time high membership roster is the association’s largest since 2008 and was established just a few weeks before SMDRA’s 70th anniversary on August 15, 2015.

“We will continue to provide the highest possible membership value and the most outstanding service possible to our members as part of our Value Proposition,” said Melissa Maldonado, Chief Executive Officer of SMDRA. “We continue to achieve our membership goals by providing members with the resources they need to help them grow and prosper in the real estate profession. Our Value Proposition is our promise to serve, protect, and advance the Realtor brand. SMDRA works diligently to expand our business connections, provide the best education and helpful information available, and insider access to market trends and housing statistics through REcolorado.”

REcolorado is Colorado’s largest MLS and provider of REcolorado.com. The organization released its latest housing statistics on July 7th. The report, which includes data from REcolorado’s 17,000 members who operate throughout the greater Denver metro area, showed an increase in inventory, strong home sales gains, and moderating sales prices.

“Sales are strong,” said Steve Konecny, Chairman of SMDRA, “and the Denver area continues to be among the hottest real estate markets in the country. The number of sold listings showed an increase for the fifth consecutive month. The number of active listings increased and the number of new listings that came on the market saw a slight upturn. We are optimistic about the balance of 2015 and believe our robust market will continue throughout 2016.”

According to the REcolorado housing report, there were 5,742 sold listings in June, up 16 percent compared to the previous month and the highest number since July 2014. The Denver area saw a nine percent month-over-month increase in the number of homes on the market, with 7,531 active listings, but inventory remains tight.

The average overall sold price in June leveled off to $373,905, and the average sold price for a single-family detached home climbed slightly to $417,253. In June, homes spent an average of just 20 days on the market, which is seven days less than the same period last year.

Realtor members of SMDRA subscribe to the National Association of Realtor’s strict Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice, which is dedicated to protecting consumers in the real estate transaction. The code requires Realtors to identify and take steps to eliminate practices which may damage the public or which might discredit or dishonor the real estate profession. As local business owners and residents, Realtors are vested in building healthy and vibrant communities across the country. SMDRA members have made extraordinary commitments to improving the quality of life in their communities through volunteer work and by supporting a variety of charitable organizations.
