The rapidly-changing environment surrounding the Coronavirus pandemic has generated a lot of questions among Colorado real estate professionals.
First, many brokers have requested stats about Open Houses and Showings since the pandemic response began.
To facilitate the safest possible showings for all concerned, ShowingTime will be switching to “No Overlapping Showings” by default for all current and new listings, effective 7 p.m. on March 25th.
On March 26, REcolorado decided to temporarily disable the ability to enter open houses in REcolorado Matrix beginning immediately. Scheduled open houses will be removed and the listing broker will be notified. This will remain in effect until concern over the coronavirus pandemic eases and the restriction can be lifted.
Prior to this decision, we saw a significant drop in scheduled Open Houses in REcolorado Matrix* compared to this time last year.
As of March 18, 2020, only 805 open houses were listed in REcolorado Matrix between March 19 and 31, compared to 2291 during the same period last year. Both periods include two full weekends.
Weekends typically see the most scheduled open houses. For the fourth weekend in March (March 21-22, 2020), there were 445** open houses scheduled compared to 1063 during the fourth weekend in March last year (March 23-24, 2019).
For the last weekend in March (March 28-29, 2020), only 123 open houses are scheduled compared to 1004 last year (March 30-31, 2019).
Next, brokers want to know what to expect and if REcolorado is making any changes.
MLSs across the country are responding to the Coronavirus in different ways. REcolorado decided to temporarily disable the ability to enter open houses in REcolorado Matrix. At this time, REcolorado is not making changes to the ability to schedule showings. If that changes, we’ll let you know right away. See the latest REcolorado updates related to COVID-19.
