September 2018 Market Statistics

As is typical for this time of year, homes sales continued to slow in September, but, year to date, sales are only three percent lower than this time last year. Homes are spending an average of about six days more on the market, which is also typical for this time of year. The number of new listings increased by two percent as compared to last year, and we have 9 weeks of inventory, two weeks more than last month. The increase in days on market and inventory could mean your buyers have more options and more time to browse. We pull statistics on the fourth business day of the month because it leaves time for you to make your status changes. (We require status changes be made within three business days because we’re all about accurate data and we know you are, too!)
